The Path to Loving Him by Meghan Quinn is a forced proximity, single dad rom-com, steamy, enemies-to-lovers, small-town standalone romance with a HEA!
After thinking she messed up her interview, Gabby indulges in a steamy one-night stand with a gorgeous man. Thinking she’d never see him again…until she got a call landing the job as the assistant baseball coach at Almond Bay High. Where she’d be working directly under the one and only Ryland Rowley--her one-night stand! Not only that, but she’s renting the apartment above his garage. And to top it off, her shower breaks, and night after night she slips into his house to use the bathroom only to find him in the kitchen, staring her down with those hungry, single dad eyes.
I might be a little biased because I’m a huge fan of Meghan Quinn! But truly this book did not disappoint! From the beginning, I knew I was hooked! I really loved both characters so much and pretty much finished this book in two days!
The spice was chef’s kiss. Be prepared. We have that very quickly and throughout. I was turning those pages all night! In true rom-com fashion, Gabby and Ryland find themselves in situations of forced proximity quite often. From living arrangements to broken showers, and their jobs. The tension and chemistry is undeniable. This man (Ryland) is a dirty talker, had me blushing and kicking my feet! But I truly loved seeing him really step up at the end and overcome the doubt within him. I also loved Ryland’s relationship with his niece and how he navigates being a single dad. (I especially loved the scene between them in the epilogue). Gabby is the big sister we all want and need! I love how supportive she is of her brother! She’s smart, confident, and nothing is stopping her!
This romance novel has everything you need! The love, the laughs, the spice, the drama! You’re in for a treat! The beginning was a good pace for me, we get right to it! But also had a nice balance of heart-felt moments and storyline!
I really loved this book! Quinn did it again and really brought to life a story filled with romance, spice, heartfelt moments, and baseball players. I rate this book a 5 out of 5. I would recommend this book to those who love sports romances, spicy scenes, forced proximity, and small-town romances. If this sounds like something you like, I recommend you check it out!
