This college sports romance read is titled: Chase Lovett Wants Me and can be read as a standalone!
Chase Lovett Wants Me is written by a New York Times Bestselling author Helena Hunting!
At about 228 Kindle pages, this is a spicy college sports romance with an opposites attract trope and a golden retriever hockey god MMC.
Chase Lovett Wants Me by Helena Hunting is a spicy college sports romance with an opposites-attract trope and a golden retriever MMC. Chase Lovett, the hot hockey star Cammie's been crushing on all semester, the star of her (unrequited) fantasies. He’s the hottest guy on campus, a hockey god, and has never noticed her...so invisible to him that he once sat on her in class. Until a fire in the dorms and a lodging mix-up made them unlikely roommates for the night. Did she mention the hotel room their university moved them to has only one bed? Not ideal. Worse, she accidentally left “My Precious” fantasy fandom underwear hanging to dry in their shower. Her actual nightmare. Her name is Cammie Lovelock and this might just be the worst, best thing that’s ever happened to her.
This story is truly a tale of young adult love. These characters are figuring out their lives, school, careers, and balancing that simultaneously while falling in love. Now my college experience was not like this haha, but it’s nice to read and immerse myself in a time where this could have happened in another universe for my college self.
I really appreciated the layers to Chase Lovett. He wasn’t a stereotypical college f-boy, he was kind, charming, and wanted to be a good boyfriend for Cammie. Yes, he was a typical boy sometimes, but he was always supportive of Cammie and stood up for her. Cammie is fun, quirky, badass (hello karate), and I loved seeing her fight her own battles and stand up to people. I loved how much she came out of her shell. There is also some spice in this story!! Be prepared!!
This was a fast read for me, no slow burn here! Which I loved, but with that, I wished we had more in-depth details of their relationship. Especially in the beginning, I felt their coming together moment was skipped through quickly. But it didn’t take away from the story as a whole.
In true college fashion, Helena Hunting brings a story of learning, personal growth, social exploration, new friendships, campus drama, love, and navigating young adulthood.
Ultimately, I enjoyed this book! I rate this book a 4.5 out of 5. I would recommend this book to those who love sports romances, college love stories, and an opposites attract trope. If this sounds like something you like, I recommend you check it out!
