Story Summary:

Misbooked for Love by Maria Rigou is a Valentine’s Day novella with a Latina FMC, single dad, strangers to lovers, forced proximity, vacation fling, holiday small town romance. Clara's much-needed solo vacation takes a frustrating turn when she finds her ski resort villa double-booked with Tom, a devastatingly handsome assh***. Forced to share space, their initial tension sparks a hilarious clash of wills that turns normally bubbly Clara into an indignant mess. As they navigate awkward encounters, unexpected moments of vulnerability start to break down their walls. Set against a cozy, snow-covered backdrop, this strangers-to-lovers romance explores what happens when two people with very different lives find themselves stuck together—and maybe, just maybe, discover there's more between them than a misbooked vacation.

Novel tropes

My Thoughts:

This was a very fun, quick and easy read! This story is just what you need to get out of a reading slump. It’s cute and has rom-com vibes. I enjoyed seeing the characters be put into forced proximity situations and valentine’s couple day activities because of the double booking incident. I also enjoyed seeing a latina be the FMC in a novel. And didn’t make it a point to always point that out! I loved that it flowed effortlessly.

This novel had, funny moments, drama, and of course love. I enjoyed the story overall. This is a fun, light, quick read. The pace is very fast. However, I do wish this story had been longer. I would have loved to get to know the characters more and watch their relationships develop. And had more time to see the inner working of their lives.

Conclusion:

That being said, I enjoyed reading. Especially the ending, it was a cute moment. I rate this book a 4 out of 5. I would recommend this book to those who love quick reads, holiday romances, and a forced proximity trope. If this sounds like something you like, I recommend you check it out!

Thank you again to Maria Rigou!!
